some of the files kind attribute become "Unix Exectable"
Posted by - NA -, Last modified by on 13 April 2009 11:12
Owing to "kind" attribute only available to Mac OS Extended file system, therefore, when copy file from Mac OSX to a NAS, the “kind” attribute will change to default attribute "Unix Executable",  because ext3 filesystem doens't have "kind" attribute. It just like some of the NTFS own attribute will not longer exist in the file after copy the file from NTFS to ext3 file system.

The native limitation is unavoidable, and currently there’s no perfect solution for this issue.

But if the Mac OS access to NAS via iSCSI no such limitation.
