N5200PRO supports disk roaming, that means when your N5200PRO was broken, you may shift your disks to a new N5200PRO.

Limitation: You could shift RAID from N5200 to N5200 PRO, but shift RAID from N5200 PRO to N5200 might encounter unexpected issue.

There are two ways to keep your configuration,

1. The easy way:

Download configuration file from [System / Config Mgmt] and then press [Download] button. Save and keep the file in your hard disk. After you shift your hard disks to a new N5200PRO, you may upload the configuration file from [System / Config Mgmt] menu.

By this way, you may keep both data and configuration, but you may need to re-create user account. Please note the firmware version on both side should be the same.

2. The second way is a little difficult.

If the DOM (disk on module) is not broken, you may replace the DOM from old N5200PRO to new N5200PRO, keep data, configuration and user account. If you need a SOP to replacing the DOM, please submit a ticket and let us know.

Note: All the current Thecus NAS support disk roaming to the same model. The models include N0204, N2200, N2200+, N2200XXX, N3200, N3200PRO, M3800, N4100PRO, N4200, N4200PRO, N4200Eco, N3200XXX, N0503, N5200PRO, N5200XXX, N5500, N7700, N7700+, N7700PRO, N7700SAS, N7700PROv2, N8200XXX, N8800, N8800+, N8800PRO, N8800SAS, N8800PROv2, 1U42XXX, 1U4500, 1U4600, N8900, N8900V, N12000, N12000V, N16000V.
